Design
the different jobs within that department
As a designer one of the main roles are collaborating with a team of artists, designers and programmers being responsible for animating the characters & other elements to do with the in game environment, at least working minimum job hours
Designers have to have a hand-on design implementation, and they need to provide clear goals by communicating their designs, also mentoring other members of the design team and ensuring development cycles are coordinated.
A game designer will also need to work as part of a team to create video games, and they would need to come up with the games concepts, characters, setting, story and game play.
Designers must work with artists and programmers to create the scripting language and artistic vision for a game.
Game designers also have duties such as designing characters, levels, puzzles, art and lastly animation but they also may code using a different range of computer programmes and they may also be alleged for project management tasks and testing early versions of the game (beta testing).
Programming
the different jobs within that department of programming are coding, concept art, story writing

The department a programmer would be working closely with are various programmers, coders and concept artists
A game programmer is a software engineer, programmer or computer scientist who creates a thing called "codebases" for video games or other softwares such as game development tools on examples such as 3DS max. Game programming has alot of subgenre's and one of the main one's are computer science/computer scientist. Due to the complexity of video games most programmers specialize in one area of programming either audio or graphics.
Quality Assurance (QA)
the different jobs within that department of quality insurance is security, and management
- the day-to-day work that department will be making sure and preventing that there aren't any defects in the games and softwares
- the day-to-day work that department will do will be making sure there aren't any fault sin the systems, beta testing and running games looking at the gameplay making sure anything isn't out of place and all is okay.

Marketing
the different jobs within that department of
day to day work that department will do a marketer will manage retail products, and services to customers they work with customers to find what they want and are looking for, and do their best to ensure the product's going down a good process route by matching customer requirements.
as part of a marketer the departments they'll be working alongside/closely with would be the publisher, programmer and the manager because a marketer is all about what the audience want and what will be good for the product.
Distribution,
the different jobs within that department of a distribution manager are liaising with suppliers, retailers, programmers and publishers as being a distribution manager is a key role
- the day-to-day work a distribution manager will do is work along side producers, publishers and ensure that the retailers and consumers for the product are all in tact
- which other departments a distribution manager will be working alongside/closely with are producers, publishers.
Distribution managers organize the storage and distribution of goods ensuring that the right products are delivered to the precise location on time and at a reasonable cost. Also there might be involvement of transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the goods.
Legal
the different jobs within that department are licensing for gaming.
- the day-to-day work that department will do is license games and check for legal stuff in games that match the criterias such as age ratings like pegi 16 and 28 for example.
- which other departments they'll be working alongside/closely with, a legal licensor in games will be working along the programmers, concept artists and games designers to ensure there isn't anything that is prohibited and goes against regulations.

Video game producers will be managing the production scale, the budget, the development team, the licensor and other parties. Working alongside with creators, programmers and designers. Producers also manage the relationship with the artists as they find the correct product deals, get contracts signed manage them aswell as other things and bring them to their conclusion so they tie the knot at the end of the game and make sure it's finalized before publishing.
